Someone isolated Serj Tankian's iconic 'Chop Suey' vocals and they're insane

His reaction to the audio is pretty good too.

All System of a Down fans are keenly aware of the power of frontman Serj Tankian's voice - but hearing him sing in total isolation is a different experience altogether.

An Armenian news service shared a clip of Serj's vocals from SOAD's 2001 hit 'Chop Suey' and it quickly went viral, even catching the attention of the man himself.

"How the hell do you guys get shit like this?" he asked when resharing the audio on Twitter.

"How the hell are you so talented?" one fan replied, while another wrote: "Idk but it sounds pretty fucking amazing."

Apparently, there are heaps of programs out there than can strip out vocals or even use artificial intelligence to generate a version of them.

Meanwhile, others speculated that the vocals had been isolated back when 'Chop Suey' featured on Guitar Hero and Rockband - those were the days, eh?

Frankly though, who gives a flying feck about how it's done when it sounds that phenomenal?

It's this kind of stuff that cements Serj as one of the greatest rock singers of all time. Not to mention those lyrics.
