WATCH: Dad gets emotional overhearing daughter play Pearl Jam on guitar instead of Taylor Swift

And she picked an absolute tuuuuune.

Music taste is something that parents always hope is passed down, and one dad heard his dreams come true through his daughter’s bedroom door.

Trent Dalton, author of ‘Boy Swallows Universe’, posted a video of himself the moment he heard his child shredding Pearl Jam’s ‘Black’ on the guitar. He just so happened to stroll past when she started playing a tune that they used to rock out to together.

“When you pass your 16-year-old daughter’s bedroom and realise she’s taking a brief break from Taylor [Swift] covers to strum the Pearl Jam epic you used to sing together on the drive home from kindy,” he wrote in the description.

Commenters are all in agreement that this moment is up there when it comes to raising kids.

“Proud parenting moment,” wrote one person. “She chose a banger too. Best lyrics!”

“You must be so proud!” said another. “I would be bawling my eyes out!!! Love that song!”

“I recently had a long discussion about The Smiths with my 17-year-old nephew and it filled my heart with joy,” a third added.

“That girl is being raised right!” one more wrote. “Congrats Dad, you done good!”

Pearl Jam’s very own Eddie Vedder surely would have given the rendition his seal of approval, but he might have even been pretty keen on her Taylor Swift covers, too.

In 2023, he headed to the popstar's concert with his family and decided to really lean into the fandom.

Vedder, his wife Jill, and two daughters Olivia and Harper were spotted at Swift’s Seattle concert in June, with a bunch of photos and videos surfacing online of the Pearl Jam frontman having a good time.

We are all for kids finding their own music taste, but God, is it awesome that she’s riffing some legendary rock too.
