Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds get in superhero scrap in new trailer for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

Who you taking?

Ryan Reynolds is returning as the shit-talking superhero Deadpool and this time around he’s joined by a grizzly vet.

During the Super Bowl, the trailer for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ dropped and Reynolds is joined by Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Currently, we don’t know if the two will finally be mates or if they’ll continue to be menaces to each other.

However, at one point, Jackman sends Reynolds flying through a wall before standing over him with the claws out, which doesn’t seem too friendly.

The trailer does give away a little bit of the plot, with Reynold’s Wade Wilson being pulled out of his birthday party by the Time Variance Authority (TVA), the multiversal organization we first saw in the Disney+ series ‘Loki’.

Matthew McFayden’s (Succession) currently unnamed character then tells Wilson he is “special” and has a “chance to be a hero among heroes”.

"I smell what you're stepping in, sensei," Wilson responds. "You're little cinematic universe is about to change forever. I'm the messiah. I...am...Marvel Jesus."

As you can tell, just like in all the other ‘Deadpool’ movies, it looks like the fourth wall is about to get demolished in this one.

The film, directed by Shawn Levy, will be the first time Reynolds’ Deadpool/Wade Wilson and Jackman’s Wolverine appear together since 2009’s ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ - a movie that both actors have consistently made fun of.

Last year, Reynolds called the movie an “absolute trash fire” and even jokingly blamed its poor quality on Jackman, saying “that one was on him”.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is officially the third movie in the ‘Deadpool’ series and is set to come out on July 26th. Let’s hope it turns out a bit better than the two stars' last collaboration.
