KFC is getting a fine-dining upgrade at a popular NZ pop-up spot

Fancy some fancy fried chook?

Us Kiwis, we're not really all that keen on a fine dining experience, but start yarning about a finger-lickin' new spot and we're all ears.

Kiwi chef Hercules Noble is pulling a Colonel, opening a pop-up restaurant called Mr. Sanders, and he reckons it's a dining experience that's anything but your usual fast food scene.

Look as long as the last person's grease is wiped off the table, I'd say it’s a pretty luxury experience.

Hercules will be flipping the fried chook classics into a fancy as five-course set menu to sink our teeth into with a wine-matching option on the table.

While he’s keeping the menu on the down low for now, Hercules hinted: “Without giving too much away, one of the hero dishes will feature fan-favourite Hot & Crispy Boneless, but unlike you’ve ever had it before.”

“I’m experimenting with ways to infuse my iconic ‘Will It Sourdough’ bread with the flavours of KFC Potato & Gravy,” he added.

It’ll all be going down at a popular location on Ponsonby Road between March 20th and 22nd.

They're securing spots for $99 a pop, or if you're keen on wine to match your feed, it'll set ya back $129.

And I guess it eases the fork out to know all that cash will be going to Surf Life Saving NZ.

What do ya reckon? Are we getting out the suit and tie for this one?
