Jetstar’s slinging cheap flights from $30 cos they want you to update your Tinder fish pic

As good as the catch of the day is, it's just not the move on dating apps.

Jetstar’s running another sale after they found out that single folks froth people who get amongst heading overseas.

It’s called the ‘Profile Pic Upgrade Sale’ and can get you travelling across NZ for $30 or across the Tasman for $135. There are 17 different fares on offer and it kicks off from midnight Thursday 14 March through till the 18th.

They did some research and found that the snap of you holding a monster fish that’s sitting pride of place on the old Tinder profile is likely to get a brutal left swipe. So, they want you to snap a new pic on your travels.

Make sure you're reading the fine print on any of the tickets you do snag because a lot of them are just seat tickets, which means no check-in baggage (or mid-flight beers).

This sale came about after they surveyed 500 Kiwi on what makes them like someone on dating apps, and 50% responded that travelling photos do the job.

They also discovered that over 80% of single NZers think the dating scene here is a bit shit due to a lack of options, and 53% are willing to head overseas to find their next partner.

If you are hoping for a bitta holiday romance, make sure you’re nice to staff and crew (just good advice in general) as 72% of respondents saw that as a turn-off. And, do NOT get your dogs out on the plane, as 45% said that’s a one-way ticket to staying single.

Finally, you don't want that picture of you holding a fish in your dating profile as over a third of respondents said that's an instant rejection.

Whether you’ll be flying away with your partner, hoping to come back with one or just keen to spread your single wings, best of luck on your travels out there.
