Mike Tyson and Jake Paul to square up in boxing match this year - here’s everything we know

Unlike Elon vs The Zuck, this one's really happening.

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are going to try to knock each other out. Yup - a boxing match between the YouTuber and former heavyweight champion is officially happening.

The fight where we all definitely wanna see one guy in particular get knocked out was confirmed this morning. It will go down at AT&T Stadium in Texas on Sunday, July 21 (NZT) and be streamed live on Netflix for all to enjoy.

“My sights are set on becoming a world champion,” Jake Paul wrote on X, “and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion of the world, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time.”

“Time to put Iron Mike to sleep.”

Tyson actually showed respect to his 27-year-old future foe, saying he is “very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul.”

“He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT.”

“I plan to finish him,” the 57-year-old made sure to add.

Tyson last stepped in the ring back in 2020, when he took on Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match that ended in a draw. As fate would have it, Paul fought in the co-main event for the card, where he knocked out the 5ft-9 former NBA star Nate Robinson.

Paul’s most recent fight came just last week, where he defeated 35-year-old pro boxer Ryan Bourland by TKO in the first round. That victory took his record to 9-1, his only defeat being against Tommy Fury in 2023.

As much as boxing purists may hate it, Tyson vs Paul will 100% draw in a massive audience because it’s so absurd of an event and everyone wants to see a big KO.
