It was reported not long ago how Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder has been going out and spreading some holiday spirit.

First he helped a family from Maryland who were due to be evicted and could not afford Christmas gifts for their 7 children. He sent the mother $10,000 which helped buy gifts for her kids and meant they could continue living in their house.

New reports have emerged that the Pearl Jam frontman has joined the rest of his bandmates to help out a man who once saved his life.

The story is that over a decade ago Vedder was sailing the Pailolo Channel when his craft ran into trouble and flipped over. He was saved by a young girl and his daughter. In the video above he was able to thank the girl and tell his story during a concert where he dedicated ‘Future Days’ to her.

Just last year the older man who helped Vedder that day, Keith Baxter, suffered a devastating injury that has since gotten worse. His family set up a GoFundMe page in the hopes it will help in assisting Baxter deal with his costly treatment.

While plenty of people donated, a close look shows that five people donated $14,000 apiece. With four of the donations being anonymous, one donation came from Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard.

Baxter’s wife Karen confirmed that the members of Pearl Jam were the generous donors. “Yes, it’s all true,” she stated. “Pearl Jam (Eddie, Stone, Jeff, Mike, and Matt) matched what was originally raised ($70K) through Gofundme.com.”
