A Kiwi man fishing off Cape Reinga may have just snagged the catch of the season.
Nat Davey was out spearfishing when he caught a monster kingfish weighing in at a world record 50.6 kilograms but it is yet to be confirmed by the International Underwater Spearfishing Association (IUSA).
When it does, Nat will have his second record, having already caught a 15.2 kilogram snapper in 2014.
The current record for the biggest kingfish caught by spear is held by New Zealander Nicholas Boulgaris who speared an impressive 49.8kg kingfish in 2013.
With our "Take A Photo Of A Fish" competition underway it's a shame Nat didn't get our sticker in the shot.
Make sure that if you're going out fishing that you grab a sticker from one of the Roadies for your chance to win $5000.
