Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reeese have signed up Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin for a sequel, set to be released late 2019. Marking the original's 10th anniversary.
Wernick recently told Vulture: "We're going on the tenth anniversary of Zombieland. Zombieland came out October of 2009. We don't know what you get someone for their tenth anniversary, but it may be a Zombieland 2.
"The hope is that we're shooting that thing early 2019 for an October of '19 release."
The first film saw the unlikely foursome Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock (names based off where they're from) come together as lone survivors (bar Bill Murray) in a zombie apocalypse.
It ended with the foursome leaving Pacific Playland, and the mad zombie disease spreading by the minute - they certainly left it open for a sequel.
Wernick and Reese went on to write Deadpool and G.I Joe Retaliation - these lads know what the f*cks up. This is going to be a bloody excellent film.
