It's never easy taking on a classic, especially by one of the best recording artists of all time, David Bowie - but that's what Johnny Depp and his star-studded band Hollywood Vampires have done.

Depp, better known for his Hollywood acting roles, has traded the film set for the recording studio, joined by Aerosmith's Joe Perry on guitar and Alice Cooper on backing vocal duties. Their new studio album, Rise, is released Friday 21 June and whilst having a few covers, will predominantly feature original material.

Fun fact - Hollywood Vampires recorded this Heroes cover at the same place Bowie wrote the original track in 1977.

The video above, shot in black and white, combines footage from the Hansa Studio recordings plus footage from their European tour last year.
