The US Coast Guard has released some absolutely badass footage of a drug bust in the middle of the damn Pacific Ocean.
Officials chased down and jumped onto this makeshift submarine, loaded with US$500 million worth of cocaine.
The drug smuggler can be seen briefly just as the hatch opens. The Coast Guard says narco-subs such as this, are about as rare as an encounter with a white whale.
It was one of 14 busts which saw a whopping 1800kg of cocaine turned over to federal agents, it said on Facebook.
"We disrupt the cocaine profits drug cartels use to diversify and fund other illicit activities like trafficking opioids and methamphetamines, and we do it at sea where they are most vulnerable."
