One woman who really, really wanted to avoid subjecting her man to her bodily functions has shared a grim warning about what can happen when you try to stop nature from taking its course.
A Brazilian singer who goes by the stage name Pocah revealed the consequences of "holding in" her farts around her boyfriend - a decision that saw her end up in hospital.
"I woke up at 5.30am with severe stomach pains and ended up in the hospital," Pocah told her nearly 16 million Instagram followers.
"But that's it, guys. I'm now fine. Just an accumulation of trapped farts," she explained.
Pocah had a warning for any of her female fans who felt they had to keep their gas under wraps.
"Girls, don't be ashamed to fart in front of your guy," she advised.
"Because what's really embarrassing is not letting your guy sleep because you're in discomfort, going to the hospital with your guy, and the diagnosis being 'trapped farts'.
Pocah said that she had since been "medicated" and was recovering from the ordeal.
