The new GTA V Next Gen version is here, and people are divided over it

Some people love it, and some people aren't stoked about it.

Grand Theft Auto V has been officially revamped for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S - and fans have mixed feelings about it.

In 2013, we got to experience GTA V for the first time. A year later, we bought the game again for PS4 and Xbox One. Now, an 'enhanced and expanded' version of the game is out for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

GTA V next-gen version was advertised to 'feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever'.

The general consensus so far is that the graphics and visuals are much better in this new version, with Video Games Chronicle noting, "the current generation versions of GTA appear much sharper, and much more colourful.

"Closer than ever to the maxed-out PC version, the current-gen versions of GTA V make the PS4 game, even when running on a PS5, look quite dated."

Another notable improvement is the loading time. IGN ran tests, and found GTA V next-gen version is "lightning fast" when it comes to loading time, with the Replay Mission loading time being nearly 75% faster than the PS4 version.

While some people are stoked with the new version, others aren't impressed, notably with the new port, transfers and generally it just being too similar to the earlier version.

Another wrote, "Me laughing at the ppl who thought GTA 5 next gen will be something huge and game changer... it's not and basically the same thing."

It sounds like, nearly a decade on from its initial release, people are definitely ready for GTA 6.

The good news is, it was confirmed last month that GTA 6 is "well underway," according to UniLad.

The bad news is, it's probably gonna take a loooong time for GTA 6 to actually be released.
