New study finds blokes lie about the size of their penis by 21 percent

The study also found the participants lied about their height and althelticism.

New research published in the Frontiers in Psychology journal has revealed that the average bloke will exaggerate the size of his member by 21 percent.

The Danish study seeked to explore the impact of money on men’s ‘self-reported markers of masculinity,’ and studied over 200 men between the ages of 18 to 35.

The blokes were split into two groups - one group was paid $5 for the study, the other received $22. Each man was then asked to self-report “bodily markers that signal physical dominance” - including athleticism, height, weight and penis size.

Researchers then compared the lad’s responses with known population averages, and found that overall, the lads overestimated their athleticism, height and penis size, and underestimated their weight.

The study also noted that while most areas were exaggerated by the men, penis size was the most exaggerated. The results implied that on average, the men "exaggerated the size of their erect penis relatively more than people’s general propensity to portray themselves in a self-serving way."

It also found that the group who were paid less exaggerated their answers more than those who were paid better.

One bloke in the study, who was in the $5 group, claimed that his piece was 34 cm - more than the world record. Alright buddy. (That man, and any other who were very clearly lying, were removed from the study, which left 191 men in total)

"All self-report measures except weight were consistently found to be above the population mean (height and penis size) or the scale midpoint (athleticism)," the study concluded.

"Additionally, the participant pool that received the lower (vs. higher) monetary reward showed a particularly powerful deviation from the population mean in penis size and were significantly more likely to report their erect and flaccid penis size to be larger than the claimed but not verified world record of 34 cm."

The researchers reckon the results could be due to blokes wanting to boost their self-esteem, and those getting paid more may’ve felt slightly more inclined to answer honestly.

In other phallus-findings, a study has revealed some pretty good news for young bucks, claiming the average penis size has grown 24% in recent decades.
