What’s better than walking into a pub to buy a Heineken? Walking into a pub wearing Heineken.
Heineken have teamed up with LA designer The Shoe Surgeon to release limited-edition sneakers that allow you to walk on beer… Literally.
The shoes, which are called ‘Heinekicks’ were launched to celebrate the beer brand’s latest drink - Heineken Silver - the brewery’s lighter, low-alcohol beer.
32 pairs of the shoes have been made, and each have transparent soles filled with Heineken Silver, so the wearer can “walk on beer.” Apparently the sole was designed to create a smooth walking experience, to mirror the smooth taste of the brew.
The shoes use the same colours as Heineken’s brand colours - red, green and silver, and the beer was injected into the transparent soles. The tongue of the shoe has a removable bottle opener attached to it, so the wearer can enjoy a bevvy “whenever the occasion arises.”
