Foo Fighters pay tribute to Taylor Hawkins on his birthday

The band shared a short but meaningful message for the late drummer.

Friday (Feb 17) marked what would’ve been Taylor Hawkins 51st birthday, and his Foo Fighters bandmates shared a short but meaningful tribute to the late drummer.

Taking to the official Foo Fighters social media accounts, the band posted a black and white photo of the drummer, with the caption simply reading:

Miss you so much.

Tens of thousands of fans and fellow-musicians commented on the post, among those being Korn drummer Ray Luzier, Wolfgang Van Halen, Queen of the Stone Age’s Alain Johannes, and Dave Grohl’s daughter Violet.

We caught up with Serj Tankian recently, where he opened up about grieving the loss of Taylor.

"Taylor was a sweetheart," Serj said. "We toured together in 2007 and 2008 with the Foo Fighters. I was with them for months and we were together all the time.”

Plus, Taylor's son Shane recently won 'Drum Performance of the Year' at the annual Drumeo awards for his performance of 'My Hero' at his dad's tribute gigs last year.
