Ever wondered how Mr Brightside would sound if SOAD recorded it? Neither, but this guy nails it

"Exactly what I would expect to hear with this mashup.”

Musician Mac Glocky has given us a taste of the rock 'n' roll faaantasy that is what The Killers hit track 'Mr Brightside' would sound like if it was recorded by System of a Down.

Enter the latest viral cover fittingly named ‘System of A Brightside’.

Mac is well known for recording cover versions of hit tracks and reworking them to the style of other famed rock bands, and let’s just say he did this one a bloody favour.

Even Shavo Odadjian, bassist of System of a Down, couldn't resist sharing this gem on his own Instagram page. If an OG gives it a nod of approval, you know you're in for a beauty.

So, what did Macglocky do to ‘Mr. Brightside’? While keeping a catchy tune and words, he added some signature SOAD metalcore energy.

Loads of fans took to Reddit to share just how impressed they were with the absolute tuuune!

“I was already feeling it but when he hit the chorus I was like "Yep, that's Mr. Brightside by SOAD alright". He totally nailed it,” wrote one user.

Another said: “Absolutely nailed it, that was glorious.”

“Dude this is sick. We need more,” a third praised.

While a fourth added: “Legitimately if I heard this on a radio I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. Just exactly what I would expect to hear with this mashup.”

With Mac killing it each and every time he does a mashup, we can’t bloody wait to see what he’s got coming next.

This isn’t the only System of a Down cover to go viral this year.

A bloke rocked up to ‘America’s Got Talent’ with just a violin and blew people’s minds with his performance.

Phillip Bowen, the bloke in question, received a standing ovation after he covered System of a Down’s claaaassic tune ‘Chop Suey’ on his violin. His mum was in the crowd and was brought to tears. Incredible stuff.
