Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett announces one-off acoustic Auckland gig

Tickets go on sale later this week.

Foo Fighters are all set to perform in New Zealand in January, and now guitarist Chirs Shiflett has announced a special solo acoustic show for fans in Auckland.

Shiflett, who became the Foo’s guitarist in 1999 following their album ‘There Is Nothing Left to Lose,’ is bringing his alt-country and Americana-influenced brand-new album ‘Lost at Sea’ to Auckland for a ‘very special, intimate acoustic performance.’

“Touring Australia and New Zealand is always a blast and I’m excited it worked out to schedule these solo acoustic shows between the big ones,” Shiflett said in an official press release.

“Better re-string my J200 and dust off my capo!! I’ll be playing some tunes from my new record, Lost at Sea, as well as my last couple records and a few covers. Might have to learn a couple Jackson United ones while I’m at it!”

Shiflett’s new album was largely written in lockdown, and is the follow-up to 2017’s ‘West Coast Town’ and 2019’s ‘Hard Lessons.’

The gig is going down on Sunday January 21st at Auckland’s Whammy Bar. Tickets are limited and will be available to buy midday this Thursday 9th November here.
