Maynard James Keenan set to release live album with fkn weird cover art

The album is set to arrive next month, complete with cooked artwork.

Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer frontman Maynard James Keenan is set to release a new live album, and the artwork is, uh, pretty fkn cooked.

The live album is called ‘Cinquanta: A 50th Birthday Celebration For Maynard James Keenan Live,’ and is what it says on the tin. It’ll feature live performances from the singer’s 50th birthday party back in 2014, where A Perfect Circle and Puscifer played, with the addition of the space-rock band Failure. All three bands played songs from their back-catalogues, and Keenan featured in every set.

"The double album captures the unforgettable night of May 10, 2014 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, where Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, and Failure shared the stage to celebrate Maynard James Keenan’s 50th birthday," Puscifer posted to their socials.

"Cinquanta features the trio of bands performing each other’s classic songs, including “The Humbling River,” “Weak and Powerless,” and “The Nurse Who Loved Me.”

Now, about the cover art.

As you can see, the artwork shows the singer as a baby, complete with a bib and nappy, screaming in a cot. It’s pretty bloody disturbing, but Maynard is a pretty weird dude so it kind of checks out. Apologies if you're eating breakfast though.

The singer is planning a similar celebratory tour for his 60th birthday this year. ‘Sessanta: A 60th Birthday Celebration for Maynard James Keenan’ is set to kick off this April, and this year it’ll feature A Perfect Circle and Puscifer again, as well as special guests Primus.

‘Cinquanta: A 50th Birthday Celebration For Maynard James Keenan Live,’ is dropping on March 22, and will be available as a 2CD set, aswell as on Bluray and vinyl. Purchase the vinyl at your own risk, because you will see Maynard as a baby spinning around while listening.
