WATCH: Travis Barker 'drums on a different plane of existence' to massive dance music tune

Putting the 'drum' in 'drum and bass'

Travis Barker took on the task of using drums to cover a song with no actual drums and smashed it.

He covered British DJ/Producer Fred Again’s ‘leavemealone’ on his drumkit and it’s a pretty fkn sick rendition. Even if you're not a fan of the OG song, the talent and musical instinct on display from Barker are impressive.

He posted it to his Instagram where it's racked up over 3 million views, as well as thousands of comments giving the fella props.

“This is why it’s called drum & bass,” wrote one person.

"Brooooo wtf,” said another. “You’re different.”

“This man plays with such heart and passion,” a third added. “One of the greatest drummers ever.”

"Trav just drums on a different plane of existence now," wrote one more.

Next month, Travis and the rest of Blink 182 are coming to New Zealand. Their two shows are already sold out so I'm sure it's going to be a fkn epic time. Check out all the info on their NZ shows here.

This isn’t the first time Barker has dabbled in the EDM world. He and DJ Steve Aoki collaborated at the 2020 MTV Movie & TV Awards, plus he's released remixes of other dance music tracks.

Another out-of-the-box rock cover came late last year when a bunch of fellas used empty beer bottles to play 'Can't Stop' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It's an impressive feat witnessing them blowing on bottles and smacking the table to the beat of the track, all at 2 in the morning.

Even if it's not your cup of tea, it's awesome seeing so much musical creativity.
