Linkin Park are reportedly planning a 2025 tour with new female vocalist

According to reports by Billboard, Linkin Park are considering reuniting for a 2025 tour, and possibly with a new female singer.

According to reports by Billboard, Linkin Park are considering reuniting for a 2025 tour, and possibly with a new female singer.

Word on the street is the band haven’t yet found a vocalist, who would succeed the late, great Chester Bennington, but are currently on the hunt for one, sources close to the band have told the music publication.

The reports don’t overly surprise us, as rumours about Linkin Park teaming up with a female vocalist have been swirling for a little while.

Back in March, Jay Gordon, who sings for the band Orgy, sparked the rumour by saying he “heard” that Linkin Park “got a girl singer now.”

He continued during the interview, “Don’t quote me on that. I’m not sure who the singer is going to be," and then doubled-down, "but I heard it was gonna be female. They might just try to move on like that. That ought to be interesting.”

However following the interview, Gordon issued a statement in an attempt to go back on what he’d “heard”.

“With regards to this Linkin Park singer thing - I know nothing about any of that. People sure do love to take my words out of context. I love those guys and wish them the best,” he wrote in a statement.

But the rumours had already started, and a bunch of fans have been thinking of which female vocalist they'd like to see share the stage with the band.

One name that's come up a lot amongst fans is Evanescence singer Amy Lee. In fact, so many fans have been talking about it, that it was brought up to her in an interview with Canada's iHeartRadio.

When asked her thoughts about it in the interview, she said that she hasn’t been asked by the band, but felt complimented by the fans.

“No, it’s not true,” she said about the rumours of her being the potential new singer. “But that’s awesome. They should ask me about that. I don’t have a ton of free time, but I might do it part time.”

There was also speculation that Bonnie Fraser, frontwoman of the Australian pop punk band Stand Atlantic, could be the woman for the job.

Back in January, she performed ‘Bleed It Out’ alongside Mike Shinoda in a performance that was posted to YouTube, and a bunch of fans flocked to the comments to say that she'd be a good fit.

But, those rumours were shut down after Bonnie posted a video to social media confirming she was not set to be the new Linkin Park singer.

As for the rumoured reunion tour,  Billboard has also reported that three of the band’s members - Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Dave Farrell - are “taking offers” for a tour and festival dates through their booking agency WME. It’s not clear if longtime members Rob Bourdon and Joe Hahn are involved.

So, long story short, rumours are rife about the future of Linkin Park at the moment, but if the reported sources are accurate, then we’ve got some exciting stuff in store for us.
