Looooves a classic stitch up - especially when the victim falls for it hook, line and sinker.
And this week, the victim was Producer Mitch from The Morning Rumble.
Mitch made the mistake of leaving his filled-out census form on the bench at his flat… He also made the mistake of flatting with someone at work who let Producer Ryan know.
We enlisted the help of Sarah from the office, who posed as an official worker and called Mitch asking why he hadn’t done his census after the due date of March 7th.
Sarah was set up in a different studio on the other side of our work building, while Mitch was in The Rock producer booth doing ‘work’ that Ryan gave him to do. This meant we could capture Mitch's priceless reaction with our producer studio cameras.
It’s safe to say that Mitch shat himself when Sarah, A.K.A. ‘Tanya Whittaker,’ told him the consequence of not sending in the census was $2,000 or 28 days prison time.
Mitch told Sarah he would have to call someone (his mum, who looks after his savings account) and get the money, because there was no way he was keen to spend 28 days in Mount Eden Corrections Facility.
Sarah finally put Mitch out of his misery, telling him: “It kind of seems like you’re phoning it in Mitchell, a bit like The Crusaders, they’ve been phoning it in for the last two weeks in Super Rugby. Do you think your lack of census is similar to their lack of heart Mitchell?”
