Netflix officially confirms 'Squid Game' season two

Netflix have just confirmed season two by posting to their social media.

Netflix has finally officially confirmed the return of the record-breaking Korean survival drama show Squid Game.

The series, which dropped last year, quickly became the most-viewed original Netflix show within 12 days of its release.

Netflix have just confirmed season two by posting a short video and an image to their social media pages. 

The first post features the infamous giant doll from episode one, with the number 2 flashing in its eye. 

“On your marks. Get set. Greenlight,” the caption read. “Squid Game continues.”

The second post, which was posted this morning (13 June), is a message from the show's director, writer and executive producer, Hwang Dong-hyuk.

"A whole new round is coming," it reads.

“It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life last year.

"But it took 12 days for Squid Game to become the most popular Netflix series ever.

“As the writer, director and producer of Squid Game, a huge shout out to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show.

Hwang then reveals some details of season two. 

"And now, Gi-hun returns. The Front Man returns. Season 2 is coming.

"The man in the suit with ddakji might be back. You’ll also be introduced to Young-hee’s boyfriend, Cheol-su. Join us once more for a whole new round.”

There's still no official release date, but sh*t we're excited for season two.
