Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder takes another verbal jab at Mötley Crüe

Rock News 09/02/2022

The grunge-vs-hair-metal beef continues...

If you missed it, last week Nikki Sixx called Pearl Jam "one of the most boring bands in history" after Eddie Vedder dissed Mötley Crüe.

Following Sixx's tweet calling Peal Jam boring, the band responded the next day with a tongue-in-cheek tweet. It said:

"We [love] our bored fans," along with a clip of excited fans at a Pearl Jam show.

It seems Pearl Jam are doubling down on the beef, as Vedder took yet another swipe at Nikki Sixx and Mötley Crüe recently.

As reported by Loudwire, during Vedder's solo performance in New Jersey before Chad Smith's drum solo, Vedder told the audience, "That drum kit - that silver, beautiful machine that he is the engine of - does not need to elevate or rotate to do its job. Let me just point that out."

The remark was clearly mocking Mötley Crüe's stage theatrics, which usually sees drummer Tommy Lee's drum kit being lifted, or sometimes revolving on a rollercoaster.

Check out fan footage of the dig below.

We've said it once and we'll say it again, it sounds like two old boys rediscovering that 'zero fucks to give' phase of their lives and reigniting the grunge vs hair, 80s vs 90s rock feud.

We'll just keep sitting here with the popcorn.
