A film based on late AC/DC legend Bon Scott is in the works, lead actor announced

‘The Kid from Harvest Road’ will aim to capture the essence of Scott’s early life in Fremantle, Western Australia.

The early years of the late, great AC/DC frontman Bon Scott are set to hit the big screen, in an upcoming movie called ‘The Kid from Harvest Road.’

The film, which is being produced by HALO Films and Protocol Pictures, is set to re-imagine the late singer’s early life “from a cherished yet troubled youth, to a prodigious artist,” an official synopsis reads.

‘The Kid from Harvest Road’ will aim to capture the essence of Scott’s early life in Fremantle, Western Australia, but the producers have made it clear that the film will not be a biopic. It’ll draw inspiration from the “stories and atmospheres” of the 1960s, offering a more “imaginative exploration of Scott’s character and experiences.”

"Focusing on his formative years in Fremantle allows for a deeper dive into the influences and events that shaped him as a person and ultimately as the iconic frontman of AC/DC,” the producers said.

“It also provides an opportunity to explore the cultural landscape of the time, including the burgeoning music scene and social dynamics of the era.

"Through careful storytelling and attention to detail, 'The Kid From Harvest Road' can offer viewers a reimagined glimpse into the life of a young Bon Scott, while also capturing the spirit of the times in which he lived.

“It's an approach that allows for creative interpretation while still honouring the essence of Scott's journey.”

Lee Tiger Halley has been announced as the man to play the role of young Bon Scott, who’s fittingly born in Fremantle, where the late AC/DC singer moved when he was ten years old in 1956.

‘The Kid from Harvest Road’ is being produced by Tim Duffy, and features executive producers Ian Hale, Nicko Mezzino and Stephen Belowsky.

The film’s already in development, with production expected to begin in early 2025. We’ll be keen to see this one when it's out!
