James Hetfield set to star in new Western thriller with Peter Dinklage

Production is already underway for the upcoming film.

James Hetfield and Peter Dinklage in the same film? Ooo.. yeahh!

Deadline has announced that Metallica frontman James Hetfield is set to star in a new, dark Western thriller movie alongside Game Of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage.

Production is underway for the upcoming film, which is an adaptation of Joe R. Lansdale’s 2013 book ‘The Thicket.’

The story is set at the turn-of-the-century, and follows the abduction of a girl by a violent murderer named Cut Throat Bill. The girl’s brother hires a bounty hunter, Reginald Jones (Dinklage) to find her, gathering a new crowd of misfits along the way.

“The gang tracks Cut Throat Bill into the deadly no-man’s land known as The Big Thicket — a place where blood and chaos reign,” Deadline reports.

The Metallica frontman’s role hasn’t been announced yet, but we know Juliette Lewis, Esmé Creed-Miles, Levon Hawke, Leslie Grace, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Ned Dennehy and Arliss Howard will be joining him - with Peter Dinklage both starring and producing.

This isn’t Hetfield’s first rodeo, either. He’s dabbled in acting before, playing Officer Bob Hayward in Netflix’s Ted Bundy drama ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile,’ and has voiced characters in Dave ‘The Barbarian’ and ‘Skylanders Academy’.

A release date has not yet been announced.
